New 2.1 Release Features Application Monitoring Enhancements for Better Availability and Situational Awareness

SAN DIEGO, CA, July 21, 2010 – Kratos Networks announced the release of dopplerVUE® version 2.1, its business-class management solution that brings enterprise-grade functionality to networks of any size. Among other new features, the release delivers significant enhancements to dopplerVUE’s application monitoring capabilities, helping IT professionals maintain the availability and performance levels of critical business services.

dopplerVUE is a core management solution that helps network professionals better pinpoint, troubleshoot and pre-empt network problem areas in service delivery, bandwidth management and network uptime. It integrates fault and performance monitoring with automated discovery and mapping across network devices, applications, servers and services presenting a single, comprehensive real-time window into the network without the need for add-ons or additional modules.

Application management enhancements in the release come in the form of new Monitoring Centers for three of the most critical business applications: Microsoft® Exchange, IIS and SQL. These Centers capitalize on dopplerVUE’s unique strength in collecting disparate data types and fusing them in consolidated, customizable dashboards. Easy-to-use wizards allow IT professionals to tailor the Centers to their particular environments.

dopplerVUE’s Monitoring Centers track the dependencies that are critical to performance with key metrics for system responsiveness, application services, server and application utilization displayed in a single view. Additionally, alarm grids automatically group alerts for any element that contributes to or affects the delivery of a business service regardless of which component generated the event.

Additional new features include an enhanced inventory list view that lets the IT/network manager display any metric and create dynamic group filters, new processor and logical disk views, HTTPS polling support and enhanced auto detection and classification of new server types.

In related news, Kratos last week released version 9.6 of NeuralStar, its enterprise-class management solution that provides situational awareness across distributed IT networks. NeuralStar 9.6 includes Unified Monitoring Centers which allow enterprises with multiple, distributed networks to roll up application and network monitoring data from dopplerVUE and other monitoring applications for better situational awareness.
