DISA Uses NeuralStar to Manage Global Communications Availability for Worldwide Defense Operations. Since 1999, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has used NeuralStar from Kratos Networks as the primary software component to administer the DISN as part of its Integrated Network Management System (INMS).
Major Telecommunications Provider Centralizes Remote Site Monitoring for Pipeline
A large telecommunications provider selected COMPASS to serve as the remote site management system for a microwave radio network along a major pipeline. COMPASS manages 55 remote microwave radio sites and 450 satellite stations to assure effective transport. COMPASS manages the microwave radios, routers and hubs, generators, UPSs, and facility alarms (fire, temperature, security etc.). COMPASS communicates status and alarm information to two NOCs in different locations over the microwave network. Operators miles away can remotely control the system, enhancing reliability and reducing manpower, travel and related costs. These capabilities help operators speed system recovery and head off problems before they can affect service delivery.
Large Government Organization Deploys Global Enterprise Management System
A large government organization with a global enterprise network deployed NeuralStar to manage 700,000 devices generating over 10,000,000 events per hour with over 12,000 clients connecting to the system. NeuralStar serves as the highest level of visibility in the network management architecture. The sub-systems forward status information to the NeuralStar, Manager of Managers (MoM), providing the ability to correlate information from lower level network management systems and create customized operational views. The implementation is delivered using a scalable and fully redundant data architecture to support operations. NeuralStar integrates seamlessly with the organization’s management tools to reduce costs and provide a 360◦ view of network operations for increased availability, reliability and security.
China’s Largest Satellite Operator Monitors and Controls Equipment for Fleet of Satellites
As part of its signal monitoring and interference detection system upgrade, CHINA SATCOM deployed COMPASS to manage satellite ground equipment for two new antennas being installed at its earth station. These new antennas are integrated into an existing COMPASS system already managing other equipment at the earth station. COMPASS provides China SATCOM operators with the ability to quickly identify and resolve ground equipment failures that could prevent the carrier monitoring system, Monics from properly monitoring carriers that may affect the services carried at the facility.
