Kratos Releases Newest Versions of NeuralStar and dopplerVUE Products

October 2011

Releases Include Enhanced Monitoring for VMware, Extended Application and Server Monitoring for Linux and Point and Click Integration with BMC Remedy

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 17, 2011 – Kratos Networks™ announced new releases for each of its flagship network management products including NeuralStar® version 9.8.1, for enterprise-class management and dopplerVUE® version 2.3.1 for business-class networks. Among new features the releases deliver enhanced monitoring for VMware®, extended application and server monitoring for Linux and point and click integration with BMC Remedy for enterprise environments.

Managing the complex and dynamically changing relationships that exist across a virtualized environment is a daunting challenge. The new versions of NeuralStar and dopplerVUE, make it much simpler to capitalize on the benefits of virtualization without the management sprawl. The enhanced VMware monitoring capabilities enable IT managers to automatically discover Virtual Machine (VM) hosts and associated instance systems, monitor the health and status of the virtual environment, capture alerts and notifications from VMware and monitor the network all in a single solution. This increased visibility into the virtual environment includes powerful capabilities to track and compare the key resource utilization of host and server instances running on the host.

“Our customers are consolidating their data centers, modernizing server infrastructure and embracing virtualization efforts to reduce costs and increase efficiencies,” said Mike Smith, general manager of Kratos Networks. “With the new release, IT managers can easily monitor virtualization from the data center to the virtual machine and beyond the underlying network infrastructure using a single IT management platform. Operators can also accelerate troubleshooting by using a simple wizard driven interface to integrate with the industry’s leading service desk solution.”

The new releases of NeuralStar and dopplerVUE also feature enhancements in application and server monitoring for Linux environments, for MySQL® and Apache HTTP Server. Extended capabilities include monitoring of Linux server performance and availability, tracking and alerting on the health of the Apache HTTP Server and MySQL applications, and the ability to monitor and alert on the relationship between the applications and the host server all using a single console.

For enterprise environments enhanced functionality in the new product release includes a point and click integration with BMC Remedy, the industry leader in IT Service Management. Without additional services or programming expertise technicians can use a wizard driven interface to integrate NeuralStar with BMC Remedy to track the entire troubleshooting lifecycle and improve end-user productivity. Enterprise customers can centralize the tracking of all network related trouble tickets, quickly create, update or delete tickets to improve troubleshooting and accelerate the remediation process. With a couple of clicks operators can map alarms to the ticketing system using a wizard to create a fully integrated IT management system.
