With physical security devices becoming Internet Protocol (IP) enabled and converging with other IT devices on the network, managing the IT environment is becoming more challenging. To ease the pain, Kratos Networks now offers a free new desktop app to conveniently monitor the availability and performance of your Cisco Video Surveillance Operations Manager (VSOM) Server.

Quickly monitor your Cisco VSOM Server from the convenience of your desktop with the Kratos Video Surveillance Monitor. The Kratos VSOM Monitor continuously tracks the elements that are critical to ensuring optimal VSOM health including server availability, as well as the status of services and video and archive feeds.

The Kratos VSOM Monitor makes it quick and convenient for IT and physical security managers to continuously monitor from their desktop without logging into a management program. Its at-a-glance view allows users to easily see CPU and memory over-utilization, storage capacity, response time for vital services, and the performance of video and archive feeds in order to ensure capture and storage. Try out the Kratos VSOM Monitor and let us know what you think. Does it provide value for your environment?

Three Takeaways from Cisco Live

Posted on - 3 comments

CiscoLive was a huge draw this year with over 15,000 registrants. The premier event showcased some of the latest networking technologies and solutions including our own. Kratos Networks exhibited at the event, met with a lot of IT professionals and left with three key takeaways.

1) Too Many Tools and No Single View
A consistent thread throughout the event from IT managers was the use of lots of tools, increasing costs and a lack of a consolidated view of IT operations. These discussions generated a lot of interest in our enterprise-class, NeuralStar and business-class, dopplerVUE solutions that deliver an integrated, real-time and dynamic 360° view of IT environments. The solutions monitor applications, networks, security operations, and servers to deliver a single view to assure the health, availability and performance of IT operations. The products require no add-ons or additional modules and are very cost-effective with a rapid ROI. Try dopplerVUE today at no cost for 30 days.

2) Real-Time Intelligence is Critical
As always IT and network managers are under constant pressure. They have little time and lots of time sensitive challenges such as network security intrusions, bandwidth saturation and application performance bottlenecks. These issues and others generated a lot of questions about our newly released real-time intelligence capabilities in our products. The capability enables IT managers to get relief by performing near-instantaneous analysis, proactively identifying and preventing issues before they impact users, and dramatically lowering the Mean-Time-To-Resolution (MTTR). Check out the recent press release or our website for more details.

3) Physical Security and Network Monitoring Growing in Importance
With network, IT and security increasingly converging over IP there was a lot of excitement from Cisco and attendees surrounding our enhanced dopplerVUE solution that offers a single view integrating IT management with physical security operations. As a Cisco Technology Ecosystem Program partner, Kratos has integrated dopplerVUE with Cisco’s Video Surveillance Operations Manager (VSOM) and Physical Access Manger (CPAM) to deliver the most robust monitoring capabilities for security conscious environments. Check out the recent press release or our website for more details.

What takeaways did you have from Cisco Live or in terms of the IT market in general? It would be great to get your feedback.

We are already looking forward to Cisco Live next year and plan on having an even bigger presence.
