Network Management Megatrends 2012

Posted on - 0 comments

Recently, Enterprise Management Associates (EMA) published a landmark study of the drivers, issues, and priorities for network managers including network management tools, technologies and practices.  We wanted to share some of these insights with you.

Factors Affecting Priorities for Monitoring:
• Increasing use of packet-based monitoring
• Performance diagnosis in flux
• Virtual environment support still evolving
• Clouds have real and measurable impacts

The Top Three Business Priorities for Network Management Solutions:
• Low cost of maintenance
• Low cost of total ownership
• Flexible deployment plan

Key among these new requirements is the desire for tightly integrated multifunction tools over loosely integrated or best-of-breed approaches.

In acquiring and deploying network management products, it was found that:
• In organizations with 10,000 employees or more, 42% of employees prefer fully integrated multi-function platforms.
• In organizations with 1,000 – 9,999 employees, 35% of employees prefer fully integrated multi-function platforms and
• In organizations with less than 1,000 employees, 37% of employees prefer fully integrated multi-function platforms.
Kratos offers a tightly integrated solution, NeuralStar, that delivers enterprise network management capabilities including NOC level visibility, management of multiple and geographically distributed networks and automatic failover and redundancy for continuous operations in an all-in-one solution that deploys rapidly for an accelerated ROI.
